President
Ruto Among Dignitaries at Lavish Wedding of Speaker Wetang’ula’s Daughter
Bungoma, Kenya – President William Ruto made a
high-profile appearance at the much-anticipated wedding of Tamara Wetang’ula,
the daughter of National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, in a vibrant
celebration that drew the political elite and delighted locals.
The elegant event, held on Friday, April 18,
2025, in Namuyemba, Kanduyi Constituency, was marked by opulence and style.
Guests were treated to a stunning display of culture and glamour as Tamara tied
the knot with Antony Njoroge in the presence of prominent leaders and family
members.
A
Star-Studded Ceremony Filled with Colour and Joy
The wedding attracted high-ranking government
figures, including Cabinet Secretaries Soipan Tuya (Environment) and Rebecca
Miano (Tourism), Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka, and Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa.
President Ruto’s presence added prestige to the occasion, as he shared
heartfelt moments with the newlyweds and mingled with guests.
Dressed in beige trousers, a light purple
shirt, a black checkered blazer, and a stylish beige fedora, Ruto looked
relaxed yet elegant. He was also spotted with brown Chelsea boots and a signature
walking stick, completing his distinguished look.
Speaker Wetang’ula expressed his gratitude
through a post on X (formerly Twitter), thanking the President for attending
the event and highlighting the importance of family unity during the Easter
period.
“The foundation of our society is built on
family. Thank you, H.E. President William Ruto, for honouring our family and
celebrating this special moment with us,” he shared.
Tamara and
Antony: A Celebration of Love and Tradition
The newlyweds' attire embraced tradition and
elegance. Tamara stunned in a green off-shoulder gown, while Antony wore a green
and gold embroidered jacket, their outfits perfectly matching the event’s rich green-themed
decor. Their names glistened in gold script against a backdrop of white florals
and vibrant foliage.
The event followed their earlier pre-wedding
ceremony, held just weeks prior at the Wetang’ula family home. That celebration
laid the groundwork for what would become one of the most talked-about weddings
in Kenya’s political circles.
Speaker Wetang’ula, in a heartfelt speech,
gave his blessings to the couple, wishing them enduring happiness and a
marriage full of love and growth.
“To my daughter Tamara and her husband Antony,
I offer my deepest blessings. May your journey be filled with joy, partnership,
and all of life’s treasures,” he said.
Tamara’s

leadership, making it a memorable Easter weekend for the Wetang’ula family —
and a moment of unity for the nation’s political class.
